Кровь к головному мозгу подводится двумя сонными и двумя позвоночными артериями. Сонные артерии дают 70-85% притока крови.
Когда сонные и позвоночные артерии достигают мозга, они разветвляются в сложную сеть. Возле основания черепа их магистральные ветви образуют Виллизиев круг (circle of Willis) http://goo.gl/xtxVDQ и http://goo.gl/R4btSD
Его основная функция соединить кровоток магистральных артерий и обеспечить кровоснабжение всех частей мозга даже в случае закупорки одной из артерий. От круга отходят мелкие артерии, несущие кровь в ткани мозга.
Интересно, что полностью функциональный Виллизиев круг встречается лишь в трети случаев. У большинства работает только какая-то его часть.

I like Fragmenter very much. Now I have extra motivation to change. It's a big difference – just write to myself in a paper notebook, or write in order to share my thoughts.
Fragmenter is cool – I start to think once and again why I'm so depressed and how I came to be like that.
